It is the mission of Santa Clara - Ivins Fire & Rescue to protect and preserve life, property, & the environment from fire, medical, and environmental emergencies, through implementation of our organizational programs, while acting fiscally and ethically responsible.

Santa Clara-Ivins Fire Rescue has established the Technical Rescue Program to maintain a committed, highly trained team of specialists that provide safe and efficient rescue operations for complicated Technical Rescue incidents that require specialized training. SCIFR Technical Rescue Team members are committed to providing immediate response to incidents requiring specialized rescues within our boundaries as well as working with our cooperating agencies including the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue, St George Fire Department, Utah Highway Patrol Aviation, Life Flight & local law enforcement agencies. The Technical Rescue (T/R) Program falls under the “Special Operations” of SCIFR’s Organizational Framework which includes tactical response (active shooter), hazardous materials, emergency building, shoring collapse, and swift water rescue. The Technical Rescue Program is managed by Captain/Specialist Gabe Runolfson.
