Reserve Firefighters
Reserve Firefighters provide a valuable service to their communities by assisting Career Firefighters in a variety of emergencies including structure fires, medical emergencies, traffic collisions, floods, rescues, and a variety of other types of emergencies. Reserve Firefighters are alerted through Active 9-11 for additional assistance for large-scale emergencies. Reserves report to station 32 and respond on assigned fire apparatus. Reserves who elect to be assigned to Engine Companies, serve during a determined shift and work alongside personnel to receive training to respond to structure fires, wildland fires, traffic collisions, incident support, and medical aid emergencies. Reserve fire crew members assigned to Station 32 receive training in wildland firefighting and special equipment operations. Reserve Firefighters trained as Driver/Operators may also operate water tenders, and Fire Engines. Reserve Firefighters receive a compensatory stipend for their participation or an hourly rate. Our reserve program is coordinated by Captain Rich Preston – if you are interested in becoming a reserve firefighter for Santa Clara-Ivins Fire Rescue please contact our administration at 435-673-6712 Ext. 300.
