It is the mission of Santa Clara - Ivins Fire & Rescue to protect and preserve life, property, & the environment from fire, medical, and environmental emergencies, through implementation of our organizational programs, while acting fiscally and ethically responsible.

Emergency vehicles are the heart of the services we provide and require daily inspection, maintenance, and servicing. Most of our fire engines weigh in excess of forty thousand pounds and are powered by powerful diesel engines that propel our personnel and equipment to the scene of our emergencies. Unlike most traditional passenger trucks, fire response vehicles require focused planning and are each individually specialized to accomplish a specific mission. Because emergency firefighting vehicles are so specialized, they require support from various technicians, vendors, test crews, and certifications to successfully run and operate at a moment’s notice.
Before we purchase any apparatus, months and sometimes years of planning are required to ensure that the vehicle will meet the intended specifications for use. Significant cost is also associated with the purchase of an emergency vehicle and can range from $350,000 for a fire engine to $ 2 million for a ladder truck. Careful budget planning is essential to keeping your fleet of vehicles capable and ready for service – something we at Santa Clara-Ivins Fire Rescue take seriously.
As emergency vehicles are the heart of our operational services, fire stations are your firefighter’s home away from home. Regardless of the type of firefighting schedule, most career firefighters spend nearly a third of their lives working from a fire station; our personnel is no different. Just like maintaining a home and business, our stations must meet professional industry standards for safety, health, and functionality, to ensure that our staff is ready for response. Firefighters assist with this by maintaining a strict daily and weekly regiment to perform cleaning, light repair, and restocking of fire station supplies.
Some of our past partners have to include Siddons-Martin, Sladen D. Markham (SDM), Larsen Fire Apparatus Inc., Emergency Vehicle Systems, BT Pearson Tire, Ivins City Maintenance, WAXIE Sanitary Supply, Alsco Uniforms, and a myriad of contractors to perform professional maintenance. Under Utah Code section 63G-6a-103(49), the City of Santa Clara has adopted a strict purchasing policy that provides for a systematic and uniform method of purchasing goods and services.
